All in His Hands!
Rev. Dianne Lewis Brown
“The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: Come, go down to the potter’s house, and there I will let you hear my words. So I went down to the potter’s house, and there he was working at his wheel. The vessel he was making was spoiled in the potter’s hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as seemed good to him. Then, the word of the Lord came to me. Can I not do with you, O house of Israel, just as this potter has done, says the Lord? Just like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.” Jeremiah 4:1-6 (NRSV)
Day One
From the very beginning humankind has been in the hands of God! In the Genesis account God in his infinite sovereignty and wisdom, took the dust of the ground and formed man. Genesis 2:6 tells us that the ground was watered from the streams which had come up from the earth, therefore making the dust from the ground a pliable material, a moldable material, a formable material–a material fit for the hands of God!
Dust mixed with water forms pure clay, most referred to as “raw clay”. Raw clay is often unprocessed, unrefined and resistant. It also contains impurities such as sand and gravel which makes it unsuitable for the potter’s wheel.
In the beginning, we too, were unrefined and unprocessed; we had very limited knowledge of God but even in this state we were still “all in His hands”! But isn’t it good to know that from the very beginning and even now, God has had, and still has His hands all over us; molding us and making us suitable for His wheel?
As Christians, life can be challenging, but once we’ve been drenched and watered with the Word of God, and moved “self” out of the way, we become pliable in His hands and become better suited for His wheel. That’s when we begin to take shape of the authentic vessel He created us to be. You see, in this state, we are no longer dust particles flying through the earth and moved by every wind of doctrine, but one who becomes a disciple, full of the Word, full of power and perfectly fit for the Master’s hands.
Wake up–God has a plan for your life! He’s looking for moldable, re-workable material and the question is, are you fit for His hands?

Thank you for your inspiration today. IT HAS HELPED ME CLEARLY REALIZE THAT gOD IS WORKING ON ME…
When we allow things of this world to conform us and rely on self, God has a way to also remind us that he is God and God alone. October 13, 2009 my husband was hospitalized with life treating situation Bi-lateral pulmonary embolism His diagnosis was grim. He was sick for 3 long years but my prayer to God was, his will be done in our life each day. I did not panic when the doctors told me how sick he was because I know that my redeemer liveth and I was persuaded that he was able to keep what was committed and he would raise him up as a testimony. the nurses and doctors that cared for him told him that he had a special job to do here because no one with that size of blood clot in both lungs should have survive and that he is a miracle. I was called by God at a young age do missionary work with my loving grandfather whom went home to be with the Lord and was rob of my joy when I came to America. God met me in the hospital room and spoke to me these words, let this be a testimony that I am the Lord thy God that healeth thee.
Your testimony gives me the power to face the world knowing that God has a plan for me and my family.
