A worm can be easily crushed. It can be trampled under foot or under a machine. In contrast, a threshing sledge’s sharp teeth can cut through rock and hard soil without being broken. Yet, God can transform one into the other.
As valuable as a worm is to our ecosystem feeling you’re a worm in your career or relationship system may mean that your vulnerabilities are showing. Your emotions are easily trampled in the give and take of office politics. Those who do not understand your gift easily crush your aspirations. Events occur that are beyond your control and it makes you feel powerless. O, to be more like the threshing sledge than the worm when facing the tough and the hard of daily living.
Our God can transform the weak and powerless with Holy Ghost power. Our God can make us stronger than our circumstances. Our God can help us cut through the toughest times without breaking. It is in our worm weakness that the Lord’s strength kicks in…if we let God do it! Lord, help me to cut through the mess!
“Do not be afraid, O worm Jacob…I will make you into a threshing sledge, new and sharp, with many teeth.”
Isaiah 41: 14-15
Let us Pray:
Lord, today empower and energize me to cut through tough times without being broken or bruised. In Jesus name, amen.
WEEKEND PRAYCATION
Many of you have been dedicated to taking this 31 day journey. Praise the Lord!! Stick with the Praycation discipline. Others may have been too busy to do the steps of Praycation this week. You started out real enthusiastic but as your agenda backed up, you slipped into your usual prayer discipline. Over the weekend catch up. Start again with the steps of Praycation: Silence, be quiet and listen for the voice of God; Solitude, get alone with God; Submission, surrender who you are, where you are, what you have to God; Service, put feet to your prayer and do the will of God and Selah, stop long enough to read the message and pray the simple prayer before moving forward.
Let me know you’re on the journey and invite others to do the same!
