Can’t Seem to Get There?

JANUARY 3, 2013

It was an accident. My friends thought it was a good idea at the time but things didn’t work out. She knew it was an accident and so did everyone else. It was a series of unfortunate events that led to more than one person being hurt. People who were not directly involved walked away wounded.

Accidents do happen even with the most careful of personalities. They have a ripple effect because misfortune touches all of us even if it doesn’t involve someone we know. Some accidents are physical like falling off a ladder or scratching a car while trying to park. Others are emotional. Something or someone was given or taken away. Something was suppose to happen and it didn’t. Something wasn’t suppose to happen but it did.

In this case, eventually the wounds began to heal except those carried in the mind and heart of my friend. Others expressed forgiveness and support. The events began to fade in memory and with time. Today she knows God and everyone has forgiven her but she struggles with forgiving herself.

Accidents do happen.  Sometimes we do things that we didn’t think would hurt other people or ourselves. The good news is that if we confess, God promises to be faithful to forgive us. We may know it but some people can’t seem to get there.

Today, apply Gods Word to the wounds. There is a balm in Gilead to sooth the sin sick heart!

My New Year’s Declaration

I am forgiven and the riches of God’s grace have lavished His kindness, wisdom and understanding on me!

BIBLE
In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding. Ephesians 1: 7-8 (NIV)

Beloved, stay the course. Just a few more days of declaring seven critical verses of Scripture over your life. Instead of making resolutions, you will have seven declarations to start your year off right. Write them down and put them in a place where you can see them daily. Memorize the Scripture and watch the Holy Spirit bring it to your rememberence just when you need it. Share these with those you know need a word from God’s Word.! Subscribe. It’s free!
