The Lenten Journey: Show Us The Way, Lord!

John 8:1-20 (NLT)
Throughout this text of John, (John 8:1-21) Jesus presents himself as our Lord of humility, forgiveness and of testimony. As this Lenten season evolves, let’s pray that Jesus will continue to show us how we can join Him in the kingdom of God.

Let us pray

Show us your way, Lord!
Through your teachings that penitence, fasting and prayer is a way to the desires of your heart.

Show us your way, Lord!
To live by your law and that we should not try to trick you into what we want for our own selfish desires.

Show us your way, Lord!
To be benevolent toward sinners and not take them to the hypocrisy of society, but to bring them to you in prayer, because, it is you Lord that will show all of us the way to eternity.

Show us your way, Lord!
To understand our own sins and that it is not our job to condemn our fellow man for their sins.

Show us your way, Lord!
To forgives for one another, because you forgave us first.

Show us your way, Lord!
That we can live without sin in our lives… For you said to the adulterous woman… “Go and sin no more”. (John 8:11, NLT)

Show us your way, Lord!
How we should live our lives in your light and not lives in the shadows of darkness. For you said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.” (John 8:12, NLT)

Show us your way, Lord!
To not be the jury and judges amongst the crowd and that it is you and your Father that are the only witnesses and judges over our souls.

Show us your way, Lord!
To accept your life’s testimony and that it speaks a valid truth for us to live by.

Show us your way, Lord!
That if we don’t know you, we will not know your Father.

Show us your way, Lord!
That believing in you and your spirit is the only way to eternal life.

Show us your way, Lord
To have patience with you, for it is only you that knows the right time to reveal yourself in our lives.

In your name we pray, that we can fearlessly come to you and ask you to show us your way, Lord.
Amen.
