This is Your Wake Up Call!

Praycation 2013 – O Taste and See

Word of the Day: Taste
Today’s Verse: Psalm 34:8-10 (NKJV)
“Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him. The young lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.”

If you have ever been around an infant, you are aware that everything they get their hands on, they put it in their mouth. As if on instinct they are saying “What is this? Is this food?” Often times it’s not food, however that still does not stop them from eagerly repeating the practice over and over again. They are literally trying to experience the world around them the best way they know how, by tasting!

Webster’s defines taste as ‘to become acquainted with by experience’ and the word see is defined as ‘to come to know or discover.’ Today’s verse is encouraging us to become acquainted with the goodness of God by experience and through this experience, come to discover how good God is to us. It goes on to tell us that when experience him and come to trust in him we are blessed. Wow! What a powerful verse!

What do you need to trust God for with the excitement of an infant, tasting everything within reach? No matter what it is, God is saying “Go ahead, try me! Have a taste! Your reward will be an experience of my goodness that will lead to a deeper knowledge of who I am and my goodness. You will be blessed if you trust me!” So what are you waiting for? Taste and see that the Lord IS good!

Prayer: Dear God, I want more of you. Help me today to taste and see that you are good in areas that I have yet give to you. In Jesus name, AMEN
