Praycation 2013 – Transformation

Word of the Day: Transformation
Verse of the Day:  “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.” Romans 12:2 NLT

One of the most amazing things about living for God is the amazing power of transformation that comes with it. Through Christ you can become all you desire to be in Him. In fact, as this verse declares, it is commanded that you allow God to transform you.

How do we allow God to transform us? By spending time with Him through prayer. reflection and the study of His word. All of these equate to spending time in His presence. As you do this, you become transformed through the renewing of your old, worldly thought patterns and resemble His image.

My daughter is created in my image. Thanks to genetics, she looks like I “spit her out” as the older generation is known to say. However, because she spends a great deal of time in my presence, her mannerisms and personality are a lot like mine- good, bad, and indifferent! I assure you it keeps me in self-examination mode!

If this concept is so simple in the natural, imagine how simple and awesome it must be in the spirit! Add to that the fact that all we stand to gain from the Father are good attributes; you can see the win-win situation that is created through fellowship with God.

Today, tell the Lord what thoughts you want to be transformed. Allow Him to change you. Spend time in prayer really sharing with Him and listening for His response. Then, begin to search the scriptures for verses that support your transformation. Meditate on these verses. Memorize these verses. As you begin to repeat the process, you will soon begin to live the verses. Transformation has taken place!

LET US  PRAY : Dear Lord, I want to renew my worldly thoughts to become more like you. As I spend more time in your presence, I will embrace the transformation! In Jesus Name, AMEN
