Just In Time!

GRATITUDE MARATHON : I am thankful for God’s grace

“For the Lord God is our sun and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those who do what is right.”

Psalm 84:11

There are days that feel like they go on forever or at least beyond my human ability to go on. Sometimes it’s because I am emotionally drained, sometimes because it’s just a long day. More often it’s because of physical pain. Whatever the reason, there are days that are difficult to endure. Enter God’s grace or his unmerited favor. Just in time!

When things seem exceptionally hard, God will step in and ease the situation. Perhaps I will get an upbeat call from a friend to lift my spirits or a student will bring me a card. It may be the deadline that I am up against will be extended or someone will offer to help with a major project. Sometimes it comes in the keen awareness of the warmth that comes from God love wrapping me up in his loving arms and reassuring me of his presence. However it comes, without fail, when I feel as if I have come to the end of myself, God’s grace will breathe on me, inspiring me to go on.

I am thankful that God’s grace was bestowed upon us when he sent his Son to give his life for us and offer salvation. I am thankful that it is still actively saving us from the day to day the challenges of our lives. No matter what comes, God’s grace is sufficient in my weakness. For that, I am thankful.

  1. The unfailing love of God is found in the grace of unmerited favor. Thankful beyond measure.
