This is Your Wake Up Call!

Praycation – Wise Up!

Beloved, I first learned to pray as a child. When my hard working mother came home at the end of the day she’d tuck me into bed with a story. One she read or one she made up. At the end before lights out, I’d lay my head across her lap. She’d fold my hands into a prayer position and we’d pray.

My mom would ask me what I wanted to pray about and then we’d pray a simple prayer. She’d then say repeat after me and she would say the Lord’s Prayer. This is when I first learned the Lord’s Prayer.

One night I asked my mother what she wanted to pray for. I waited to hear that she was going to pray for a better job, better hours, better pay or better children. She responded that night by saying she wanted wisdom beyond her years and experience. And so we prayed.

My mother made her transition to eternal life a long time ago but I now pray her prayer. Lord give me wisdom beyond my years and experience.

Welcome to Praycation! Pray for Godly wisdom for yourself and others. Pray that wisdom will prevail in all circumstances instead of anger, grief, fear or retaliation. Pray that wisdom will show up at work today or that it will be at home when you return. Pray for wisdom in you relationships, covenant and otherwise. Ask God to help you see and hear wisdom and not ignore it aside because of pride or personal preferences. May the Lord cause you to speak wisdom today without fear or prejudice.

Let us pray God’s word today. Let’s teach the children how to pray for wisdom beyond their age and experience…especially those in turbulent environments. Let’s pray that people everywhere who must make decisions today do so with Godly wisdom.

Pray God’s Word – ¬†Ephesians 1:15-23:¬†

“Ever since I first heard of your strong faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for God’s people everywhere, I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God.

I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called-his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance. I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else-not only in this world but also in the world to come.

God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.”(NLT)
