This is Your Wake Up Call!

Praycation – Truth Marches on!

Beloved, it seems like the more information that is available, the less we understand. The more we read, receive, ponder, hear and see the more insight struggles to emerge. Clarity can be an illusive thing.

In the media there are times when the lines between news and commentary are blurred. Truth has to fight its way through self-interest, self-aggrandizing and self-indulgence. Truth gets trampled by biases and then rises to trample falsehoods. Truth marches on pass barriers of fear and doubt.

Today let’s pray and ask God for clarity in our personal and public lives. God can help us wade through information to find the nuggets of truth so that we may live and act wisely. God can provide us with wise counsel when we must engage in decision-making.

Let us pray:

“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you and watch over you.” Psalm 32:8

Sometimes, Lord, it’s so hard to see the truth. We squint and struggle to make sense of what is going on in community and country. We seek the truth today that will continue to set us free.

Help us to see truth wherever it is found and to see when we are clutching at the wrong answers. Help us to know how to best follow your voice and to wait until the time and manner you choose to answer our prayers.

Teach us today not be too quick with our human judgments. Show us how to extend mercy to others in the same manner you extend it to us. Let us never be content with superficial information but dig below the surface to discover truth.

Thank you for being the Way, the Truth and the Light in our lives! In Jesus name, amen.
