This is Your Wake Up Call!

Let’s Be About It!

000-being-prepared“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these…”
John 14:12 (NIV)

Family, the shards of the previous year have finally fallen to the ground. There were many events and experiences that shattered our plate glass windows of safety, peace, and tranquility. Political divisiveness shook our countenance. Ugly racism turned violent. Doubts and fears ran rampant from sea to shining sea in our country. Hurricanes, wildfires, flood waters and death made house calls. Believers held on so that the power, love and sound mind promised in the gospel was not diminished.
Praise God that we’ve closed the door on 2017 and a new year is before us. This doesn’t mean that some of the same issues won’t try to slip through the cracks of yesterday for a return engagement tomorrow! In other words, “Every goodbye ain’t gone”.

What we do have in our brand-new year, is a promise that everyone who believes will do greater! It is an incredible promise that the disciples of Jesus Christ will carry on His work and do something greater. As a means to that end, we will have access to divine power in prayer so that everything we need to get it done, we can ask for and receive it.

Jesus went around doing good but also went about teaching, sharing and demonstrating the power of God. He did these things with team members and those who lived on the margins of life. Jesus was intent on training people to continue to do this work in generations to come.

The Lord wasn’t so focused on getting a seat at the head of the table. He was focused on getting people in the Kingdom. Jesus wasn’t so focused on having the best seat in the house. He was focused on making sure every seat was filled.
What about you? Are you focused on getting to the top or having the best seat? Or, are you trying to be sure, pastor, preacher, lay member, that every seat in the church house is filled?

Hello, 2018! Jesus is still at work. Jesus will still work through us.
Prayer still works. Prayer will still release the Lord’s power to bring about blessings. We can still serve and pray in Jesus name and incredible things will happen.

Let’s prepare ourselves to do greater things through Jesus Christ than any of us can imagine in 2018. Let’s be about it!
