Gratitude Changes Everything. Let’s change the world together!

Best selling author, Minda Hart is grateful. She is an exceptional speaker, teacher and motivator to leaders who happen to be women.

Today, I’m grateful for second chances.

“… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

Have you ever needed a second chance? Have you ever needed a second opportunity to do something, get something or say something, right? Have you ever given someone a second chance?

I must confess, that there have been times when I felt like I was in a helpless hopeless situation. The career was going nowhere. The carefully made plans were not falling into place. What I thought was for sure became unsure. What I thought was a good thing to do, was a not so good thing to do.

We do not always get it right or get it right the first time. We may not know what to do when uncertainty dominates daily life. Just like in the Bible after the resurrection of Jesus Christ, there was a lot of uncertainty.

Peter said he would follow Jesus, even if it cost him his life. Yet he denied Christ three times. He was now the leader of a disheveled group of people and led them straight from hiding to fishing. He made a series of poor decisions. Ever been there?

We don’t wake up in the morning and say, “let’s make a mistake today!” But, when we do make mistakes, there are always have takeaways – lessons that you can take with you into the next season of your life. Lessons like maybe next time, follow the assignment, up your time management game, say no or not now, trust your gut instead of following your hormones into a relationship, slow down, listen first or champion your own idea.

Peter’s mistakes did not cost him his leadership position or his relationship with Jesus Christ. He got a new assignment, “if you love me, feed my sheep.”

As it is for Peter, it can also be with us! What the Lord started in you, no matter what, the God of a second chance intends to finish it in you.! Be confident that the good things that was strted in you will be fulfilled. (Philippians 1:6)

Let us Pray out loud:

O God of our salvation, today we anticipate a future of joy and peace because of your great and marvelous promises of provision and protection. We shout aloud and sing for joy because You are our second chance God who gives us strength to survive uncertain seasons. In Jesus name, Amen.

  1. Daniela Bailey says:

I’m grateful for another opportunity to share God’s love with someone else today

  2. Deirdre Dunlap-Green says:

I am always grateful for the many second chances that God has given me and mine. I lost my job of 5 years in July 2019 and as of today still have not been able to procure a job. I refuse to get down and out about it because God has continued to provide. In the midst of this COVID-19 pandemic, I’m am so grateful that it has not directly affected any of my loved ones. Second chances every day to get right with GOD. My favorite Gospel song is “God of a Second Chance” by Hezekiah Walker. https://youtu.be/guoYLH-z2u0

  3. Grateful for a second chance at love. My first marriage ended in domestic violence. Last month I was blessed to marry a wonderful man of God! My joy is restored! This experience lead me to create an app for victims of violence to document their trauma for healthcare and legal purposes. Not only is my joy restored but God turned my tragedy to triumph!
